Copper naphthenate,
the active ingredient of COBRATMWrap,
is environmentally acceptable for workers, animals, beehives, plants
and grasses (shown in acute toxicology tests, Applied Biological Sciences
Laboratory, 1985). Copper naphthenate is recommended as a wood-preservation
chemical by U.S. Department of the Interior.
Copper Naphthenate:
- is not on the hazardous chemicals list;
- is insoluble in water and is leach resistant;
- permanently "fixes" in the wood cells; and
- has no measurable vapor pressure or evaporation
will not corrode pole hardware will not increase electrical conductivity
of cross arms on a pole.
Faster, easier and safer to install
To install COBRATMWrap:
- cut to size;
- peel off (standard) or slice (SD) the inner layer;
and
- wrap tightly around the base of the pole with 2"
of the bandage extending above the groundline.
